Vestech has been working with Headsafe, led by Dr Adrian Cohen, a senior lecturer at the University of Sydney, as well as Prof Clare Fraser, Associate Professor of Neuro-ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Education at the University of Sydney, to develop a practical, immediate and reliable means of assessing concussion and recovery from concussion. The work on the “Concussionometer”, driven by Dr Cohen and utilising techniques of visual evoked potentials (VEPs) to assess brain function following impact injuries is aimed at allowing sideline assessment in sports, as well as follow up assessments as recovery occurs. Vestech has assisted with IP strategy, regulatory compliance and project management of the device design and manufacturing.
Dr Cohen has presented the innovation at a number of pitching competitions both in /Australia and in China and has so far received commitments in excess of $1M from investors and has won a number of these competitions. Vestech has supported these presentations and the subsequent Q&A sessions with great success.
