Vestech Medical works with UTS Students to Develop Novel Navigation Approach
Cryptych’s Precision Fiducial Screw, used in Australia and the United States to monitor computer navigation accuracy during spine surgery, was used to provide data to a team from University of Technology Sydney to assess the ability to quantify deformity correction in real time during surgery. The UTS team have developed an algorithm to take the navigation data derived using the Precision Screw and indicate the extent of angular correction of the spine intra-operatively, allowing the surgeon to make adjustments should that be required. Vestech assisted the UTS team with clinical understanding and output guidance for clinical utility.
